San Antonio de Portmany

Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio de Portmany) covers Ibiza’s west coast and part of the interior, between Sant Josep (San José), Santa Eulària (Santa Eulalia) and Sant Joan (San Juan), over some 127 km². The town, once a natural Roman harbour, sits at the head of a wide bay facing the sunset.

The town and the bay

The seafront and the Passeig de ses Fonts run along the harbour. North of the bay, the sunset coast is home to bars known around the world. Lively in summer, the town is also a year-round place to live.

Inland villages

The interior is rural and peaceful: Sant Rafel (San Rafael), on the road to Ibiza Town; Sant Mateu d’Albarca (San Mateo), deep in the countryside; Santa Agnès de Corona (Santa Inés), on its northern plateau; and Buscastell. Many of the area’s fincas and plots are found here.

Beaches

North of the town, Cala Salada, Cala Saladeta and Cala Gració are among the island’s best-loved coves. The town beach, s’Arenal, lines the bay.
